It is with a profound prayer for Siyata DeShemaya that we take this opportunity to present to you a new and innovative Bais Yaakov Seminary in Israel: Pri Chochama. And we thank you for the time you take to read this appeal.

Pri Chochma a High school, for girls who struggled with standardized, formal learning and who had been rejected from school after school and were sitting at home facing a bleak future. A heartbreaking situation which is nothing new to these girls.

That there are young ladies out there who are academically challenged and whose self-esteem has reached rock-bottom is nothing new.

Young ladies who do not fit the typical educational mold and have met with scholastic failure after failure is nothing new.

Young ladies up against an educational system that has failed them time and again, and left them unprepared for the challenges of their life ahead (as if it is not difficult and challenging enough) is nothing new.

A school that believes in these young ladies and their tremendous talents is somethingvery new.

A school that understands that they should not be deprived of an authentic, warm, and professional Yiddishe education is new.

A school that provides an enriched educational program that is perfectly adapted and tailored to their needs and strives to reach each girl on her level is new.

One that is geared to raising their self –esteem and putting a constant smile on their faces is new.

A school committed to giving these girls the intoxicating feel of scholastic success is most definitely new.

Pri Chochoma is all of that. And more. It is a bridge between the unforgiving world out there and the challenge of their lives up until now. It helps them literally turn their lives around. It is the perfect answer for these young ladies who are talented in so many other ways. Pri Chochoma is a multi-disciplinary school that seeks to turn out well rounded young ladies. Self assured, confident and well prepared for life. And as such, much thought has been invested in offering a well-rounded curriculum that addresses the wholeness of their spirits. and the guidance of Rav Ganz shlita, it includes a full Limudei Kodesh program, a fine and refined chinuch as befitting a Bas Yisroel and a future Eim BeYisrael. Together with a General Studies curriculum that is adapted for its practical application in life. And on top of that, it challenges the girls beyond even their wildest expectations by offering them cutting edge classes in some of the most sought-after professions in the country. Things like Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, Jewelry Design and Making, Drama and Art.

No less studied are the fine arts of social interaction and skills. Cultivating healthy friendships and proper social outlets round out the scope of this incredible school. For the first time in their entire scholastic career these girls are introduced to their strengths, to the wonderful ways they can contribute to our community and to the brighter future that lies ahead for them, besiyata DeShemaya.

Opening a new school is always a risk at best. Will there be a response? Will there be community support? We found an interesting thing. There were young ladies who had been rejected from school after school and were sitting at home facing a bleak future indeed until they heard about our school. It has proven a G-dsend to them. And we look forward, BEZH, to helping them open the horizons of their minds and spirits and to help them conquer frontier after frontier. For they are clearly capable. It is a thing of great beauty to witness the glow of confidence and the smiles of hope on these girls’ faces. School is no longer something they dread but rather actually look forward to. And for that we are eternally grateful to have been the Divine messengers. It is a fascinating paradigm and one we pray will be followed by many others.

As you must know, support for new endeavors is always slow at the start and there are a lot of expenses. Hence we turn to you, our brethren in the Diaspora. Men who understand the courage it takes for these young ladies to face their future. Men who have proven to be advocates for the underdog and who have given a voice to those who do not have one off their own. Men who salute their struggle and more so their resilience and determination. To help us ensure that Pri Chochma will remain and the girls can continue to have schooling to look forward to.
